Theresa is a 200 hr. RYT Kripalu yoga teacher. She has also received additional certification as a Women’s Cancer Survivor yoga instructor through the renowned OM Yoga Center in NYC. Theresa has been a yoga instructor for over 10 years, and teaches art at the Katonah Art Center for more than 20 years and counting.
“From a very young age, I have always found a healing sense of well being and inspiration through my art. This was an intuitive passion of expression for me and remains so to this day. I have been teaching art for over twenty years and my work, as an expressive artist, has been exhibited in museums and acclaimed galleries throughout the Northeast.
As my life’s journey evolved, with all of its rich experiences through the shadow and light, I began to seek an even deeper meditative practice of physical, mental, and spiritual balance. This is when yoga became the conduit that integrated this wholeness into my life. Through the physical practice of getting in touch with my body and the internal practice of connecting to my emotions (by balancing both through breath), I have been much more willing to meet myself in the present moment and to live my life more authentically. It is my desire and intention to encourage others to find their personal path to self awareness through the philosophy and practice of yoga.”
“Practicing yoga with Theresa is the best! It is totally delightful to be in her presence. She is not caught up in her own ego, and allows her pupils to practice at their own comfort level within the class instruction. Every week is a little variation from the week before, keeping it all stimulating.”- Hope S.
